What does Moringa taste like? Moringa has a subtle earthy flavor which pairs well with anything that’s naturally sweet—so it’s delightful when added to lattes, oatmeal, overnight oats and fruit smoothies. It also blends well in soups and stews.

Why is Moringa so healthy? Moringa is super nutrient dense with more than 92 nutrients and 46 antioxidants. Moringa has been well researched and studies suggest the nutrients in its leaves contain strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which protect against oxidative damage in the body, and may help prevent chronic diseases including diabetes (high blood sugar) and heart disease (high cholesterol, high blood pressure)  Moringa is loaded with vitamins A and C, minerals calcium, iron and potassium, and contains all nine essential amino acids making it a complete plant protein. It’s also thought to improve energy levels, memory, focus, libido, digestion and gut health, and skin and hair health.

What's the best time of day to take Moringa? Since Moringa is a sleep regulator and a natural energizer, we recommend taking it in the morning, noon or afternoon.

How much Moringa should be consumed and how often? We recommend about 5g (5000 mg) per day. This translates to approximately 2.5 tsp of Powder; about 14 Capsules (each me moringa capsule is .35g/350 mg of powder) and about 5 tablets (each me moringa tablet is approximately 1g).

Can I cook with moringa powder? No. If moringa powder is heated above 104 degrees F, it will lose its nutritional properties. Simply add it as a garnish to your cooked meals before serving.

Can I use Moringa as a substitute for medication? No. Moringa is a food supplement and should never replace any kind of medical treatment. In fact, if you have high blood pressure or diabetes, you should consult with your doctor before taking Moringa.

If I consume Moringa daily, can I stop taking a multivitamin? While Moringa is extremely nutrient dense, loaded with vitamins A and C, minerals calcium, iron and potassium, and vegan plant protein from all nine essential amino acids, we suggest you speak to your doctor or nutritionist to determine your supplementation needs.

Is it possible to consume too much Moringa? Like broccoli and spinach, Moringa is considered a whole food. So while overconsumption hasn't been reported or studied, it can result in stomach upset and/or nausea. We suggest starting with 1 tsp and gradually increasing your daily intakes based on your health and fitness goals.

Are there any side effects I may experience from consuming moringa?  Moringa has an abundance of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids and like broccoli and spinach, is considered a whole food. So while incidences of “too much” haven’t been reported, each person is unique and responds differently to different foods. Temporary side effects can range from mild headache and upset stomach, to mild nausea. This is usually the result of toxins being eliminated from your body as a result of Moringa's cleansing properties. Such side effects usually disappear after a few days. That's why we suggest starting out with 1 tsp of Organic Moringa Powder and gradually increasing your daily intakes based on your health and fitness goals.

Can I consume moringa if pregnant or nursing? Research has shown that Moringa consumption can actually increase the volume and quality of breast milk during and after pregnancy. However, since people react differently to different foods, we suggest you consult with your OB-GYN before consuming Moringa during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

me moringa FOR LIFE is certified ISO 22000, which means we adhere to international food safety management standards.

Our Moringa is grown organically, without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. This ensures our trees are clean and potent--and free from toxic chemicals--when they are are consumed.

me moringa leaves are gently and carefully harvested and cleaned by hand, to avoid damaging the leaves and diminishing their nutritional potency. Similar care is used in the drying process which is done at < 40 degrees C/104 degrees F to ensure the preservation of the natural vitamins, phyto-compounds and enzymes (raw food quality). The dried leaves are then finely ground, also at low temperatures.

me Moringa leaf products are packaged in airtight, food-grade containers that prevent seepage from light, air and moisture which can compromise the product.  At me, safety and quality control throughout our production and packaging process is an important cornerstone of our philosophy.

me moringa TEA BLENDS

How long should I steep me tea?
All me teas are labelled with our recommended water temperature and steeping time. You can, of course, steep your teas for as long as you'd like. If the tea tastes bitter, steep for less time, or reduce the amount of tea used. To increase flavor, steep for a minute or so longer, or use a bit more tea.

How does the quality of water used affect the taste of me teas?
The best water is just fresh from the tap (if possible). Water that has been in the tea kettle overnight or has been boiled can be bland, flat or stale.

Good tasting water is fresh, oxygenated and full of natural minerals. If you live in an area that has "hard" tap water (especially high mineral or lime content), your tea may have a "furry" taste, and a film may develop that can hinder the developing flavors. In areas with especially hard water, we recommend using either a water filter or bottled water with a low mineral content.

Mineral water is generally unsuitable for making tea because of its high mineral content. If using mineral or bottle water, look for those led labelled "low mineral" and/or "light".

According to Medical News Today, some of the medications to be particularly aware of are when taking Moringa include:

  • Levothyroxine: Used to combat thyroid problems. Compounds in the moringa leaf may aid the thyroid function, but people should not take it in combination with other thyroid medication.
  • Any medications that might be broken down by the liver: Moringa extract may decrease how quickly this happens, which could lead to various side effects or complications.
  • Diabetes medications: Diabetes medications are used to lower blood sugar, which moringa also does effectively. It is vital to ensure blood sugar levels do not get too low.
  • High blood pressure medication: Moringa has shown to be effective at lowering blood pressure. Taking moringa alongside other drugs that lower blood pressure may result in it becoming too low.
